Allternative Gym is the pioneer in strength training while utilizing the Adeli Suit. Allternative Gym customizes each exercise routine to fit the individual’s specific needs and goals. Research shows that productive and positive use of recreation time for someone with a disability is not only desirable, it is imperative. Attitude and activity strongly affect a person’s health and well-being. Involvement in positive and meaningful recreation activities assists with decreasing medical complications and the need for further medical intervention and /or hospitalization, and it is one of the best ways to adjust to lifestyle changes caused by a disability. THE CLASSIC CITY SOCIAL CLUB – Athens, GA

The Athens Classic City Pilot Club began this group in 1991 for individuals with brain/head injury who are more independent. No walk-ins are allowed. For safety reasons, they ask for a referral which could be a doctor, family member, teacher or other person acquainted with the individual.They meet at the Masonic Lodge at 386 Research Drive in Athens, Conference room, one Sunday a month from 2-4. There are 3 or more Pilot Club members that supervise and provide refreshments. Activities include bingo with prizes, annual Christmas party, annual picnic, and an anniversary celebration. There are computers to help members work on memory retention, dexterity, math skills, problem-solving, and written communication.
