WALK FOR BRAIN INJURY – AUGUSTA

2020 Run/Walk for Brain Injury will be announced later in the year.

10th Annual Augusta Walk for Brain Injury for 2020

Presented by NeuroRestorative Georgia, The Harison Heights Campus of NeuroRestorative and the Brain Injury Association of Georgia, the annual event brings together brain injury survivors, their families, medical and therapy staff and others, joining together to raise awareness about brain injury–so often an invisible injury–can happen to anyone, at anytime. It does not discriminate and can be an acquired (i.e. stroke, tumor, aneurysm….) or traumatic (concussion, fall, accident…) brain injury.

In addition, the walk benefits the Augusta Brain Injury Support Group, which meets on the second Thursday of every month at NeuroRestorative Georgia, 2501 Center West Pkwy. The group connects families and local survivors to create a powerful support network, and features social activities, education and more.

Funds raised send local survivors to Camp BIAG, a four-day overnight summer camp for adults with a brain injury. Based at Camp Will-O-Way in Winder, Ga., the camp focuses on providing therapeutic social and recreational activities in a safe, medically supervised environment. Camp BIAG is a program of the Brain Injury Association of Georgia, which provides community support programs for individuals and families throughout the state. Last year, with your help, we were able to send campers from Augusta who received the benefit of a Camp BIAG experience!
