The Georgia Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission offers an opportunity apply for a grant. You may go online to register your injury and apply for grants for certain kinds of post-acute care and rehabilitation.
These may include Transportation, Assistive Technology, Durable Medical Equipment, Personal support, Therapies such as Cognitive, Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Vision; Counseling and Neuropsychological testing.

Provides funding for services and items that will improve the quality of life, increase independence, and allow inclusion in the community for individuals with traumatic brain (must be TRAUMATIC, not tumors, brain bleeds, etc.) and spinal cord injuries. (Priority given to those in at-risk situations).

Medicare
Provides health insurance (hospital and doctor’s services) to people ages 65 years and older, and some disabled people under 65 years of age (eligibility begins 2 years after date of injury).
Part A: (Hospital Insurance) Helps cover inpatient care in hospitals and cover skilled nursing facility, hospital and home health care.
Part B: (Medical Insurance) Helps cover doctors’ services, hospital outpatient care and home health care. covers some preventive services to maintain your health and keep certain illnesses from getting worse.
Part D: (Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage) – Offers a prescription drug option run by Medicare approved private insurance companies, helps cover cost of prescription drugs, may help lower your drug costs and help protect against higher costs in the future.
